The Handwritten Sign

แตะคำเพื่อแปลและบันทึกไว้ฝึกฝน

Priya answers a phone call in her newly arranged clothing repair shop, surrounded by sewing machines and folded fabric.

Priya wanted everything to look professional on the first day of her clothing repair business. She had cleaned the shop, arranged the sewing machines and designed a large sign listing her services and prices.

The printer called the evening before opening. A machine had broken, and the sign would not be ready for several days. Priya felt that she could not open without it.

Her brother suggested writing something by hand. She disliked the idea, but she took a piece of card and wrote, "Clothes repaired here. Come in and ask."

The next morning, an older customer brought a coat with a loose button. He said the sign had made the shop feel welcoming. Later, a student asked whether Priya could shorten a pair of trousers.

By lunchtime, she had six small jobs. People stopped to talk because the simple sign invited questions.

When the printed sign finally arrived, Priya put it inside, where customers could see the prices. She left the handwritten card in the window.

It did not look as polished as she had planned. But it said the thing she most wanted people to do: come in.
